silver cap cleaning tips?

I read somewhere that the aluminum foil, baking soda, and warm water trick is gentle for cleaning silver. Wanna try it on the cap of my Parker Cascade Silver, but will it damage the gold clip?

The warm water, baking soda, and aluminum foil method works well for silver but can harm gold plating. To protect the finish,it is preferable to use a soft cloth and silver polish to clean the silver and a gold-safe cleaner for the gold clip

I'd also go with @NibNinja's suggestion and use a cotton swab when applying the solution and only specifically to silver areas!
A gentle wipe with a soft cloth after rinsing should also be sufficient.

Absolutely! Silver is pretty forgiving when it comes to cleaning, but gold? That part needs a bit more TLC.
