Handwriting tips anyone?

When I was in grade school, we had this practice writing book which helped me write legibly and beautifully. But overtime, I noticed it's no longer as pretty. Maybe due to age but my hand cramps up fast, making it tough to keep up. when I try speeding up, my handwriting turns into a mess! I'm actually jealous of the ones who can do calligraphy!

I'm ready to learn a new style how should I go about it? I like a clean, readable look. If anyone has tips or similar styles to share I'd love some help!

Well hey there. It's funny you mention this because my own chicken scratch got so bad my wife couldn't read my shopping lists. I went back to basics and started doing printing drills like I was a kid again, focusing on holding the pen looser to stop my hand from getting tired. Are you trying to improve your printing or are you set on learning cursive?

I started retraining my handwriting using Spencerian and a Pilot Met pen, and it's been a good. I guess the common process for this is to really start slow with drills and muscle memory work, then pick a style that feels natural and build from there. Good luck.

Yeah cramping and messy writing can be so frustrating and my concern is pushing too hard might cause long-term strain, maybe start slow with ergonomic pens and light-pressure drills first?

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we forgot how to write. I was partially in that situation, but then I began writing. A memoir or just gibberish is good enough, as long as you practice. Essentially, it's relearning what you've learned in grade school.
