Rotring 600 wont screw all the way in

I know it's a pen forum, but I hope someone can give me a hint as to why my Rotring is causing this problem? Whenever I want to retract the lead it doesn't close all the way and the lead just falls off. On the other hand, when I want to feed the lead it doesn't have this problem. I haven't done anything to it and it started happening this morning. Any ideas?

Seems like the clutch mechanism might be sticking or misaligned. maybe give it a gentle clean Hope it's a quick fix!

Already tried that and it hasn't changed anything. Is there a way to replace the mechanism?

The clutch likely isn't closing all the way but since you say you checked that, try checking that the lead isn't cracked or too thin, it can cause the same issue but I guess maybe double check that clutch again, be sure maybe you'd need more than just a gentle clean
