Stepping up my fountain pen game from Lamy Safari to TWSBI 520

About a year and a half ago, I took my first step into the world of fountain pens with a Lamy Safari, a converter, and some Noodler's Black ink. It was a great setup that opened my eyes to the pleasures of using fountain pens

Now, I'm diving in a bit more seriously. I just ordered a TWSBI 520 with an extra-fine nib and a bright red ink to go with it. I can't wait to see how the TWSBI performs and how that red ink will bring a fresh vibe to my writing

Has anyone here tried the TWSBI 520 or something similar? I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts and any tips you might have for making the switch smoother

I haven't used the 520 but I got a few TWSBI, and it's perfect for the finer details of my doodles!
One thing I've learned with new fountain pens is that sometimes there's a tiny bit of a break-in period.
So just let it write naturally but maybe not on final projects unless you don't mind the blotchy parts or the blanks!

Up here, TWSBI has a pretty loyal following, especially for folks who appreciate a good piston-filling system. That extra-fine nib should be great for detailed work, just like the other poster mentioned for their doodles.

Not bad at all, TWSBIs can be a bit thirstier than Lamy, dont be surprised if the flow is what I like to call 'quite ambitious'
