what's the substitute for plumbers grease? Bcs I live far from the city and it's hard for me to get it
my bro was suggesting a petroleum jelly, is it okay?
Am I gonna get a weird effect if I don't use anything other than rubber/ ebonite?

Petroleum jelly? Think twice before using it on your fountain pen. It messes with rubber parts, causing swelling or softening. So, keep it away from your pen, especially if it has rubber seals. I suggest silicon jelly instead

I get silicon grease with the fountain pens I order. That is what I would look for.
